IT Point of Sale Specialist


Description

The IT Point of Sale Specialist responsible for effective NCR Aloha POS hardware/software support, including configuring Aloha POS software, and remote support of all restaurant technology. This person must possess excellent technical and communication skills. Analytical thinking will be very important, as this position will involve problem resolution and process development. In addition this candidate must be able to define, maintain, and implement basic network connectivity, deploy/maintain POS server and terminals, translate user requirements into functional technical specifications, and must have previous experience within the hospitality industry.


Responsibilities

  • Perform remote support activity to solve POS functionality issues and ensure proper operation.
  • Logs calls for technical assistance, through the helpdesk system
  • Ensures that POS security procedures are implemented and enforced.
  • Program POS item and price changes including database updating and maintenance.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Troubleshooting of supported POS hardware.
  • Provide on-call evening/weekend after-hours technical support to restaurant locations.
  • Perform new shop opening on-site support including POS training of restaurant staff as needed.
  • Perform reasonable additional duties as requested by supervisor and colleagues.

Required Skill

The individual should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:

  • Ability to install and configure NCR products, such as Aloha Quick Service (QS), Configuration Center (CFC) MenuLink (ML), Aloha Online Ordering (SA) and Command Center (CC).
  • Able to create, configure, and troubleshoot objects in CFC.
    These objects would be, but not limited to corporate entities, sites, system settings, hardware, items, events, categories, hierarchies, pricing, promos, comps, item routing, EDC, credit cards, and gift cards.
  • Experience with the CFC use of hierarchies and versions.
  • Advanced CFC knowledge in the areas of shop settings and system configuration.
  • Advanced knowledge of CFC to be able to effectively determine if issues are related to configuration, environment, or software code issues.
  • An understanding of hierarchy management in CFC and how to apply that in a large, multi-unit environment.
  • Significant experience analyzing POS DEBOUTs
  • The ability to assess potential solutions in terms of system impact, ease of implementation, and long-term maintenance.
  • An understanding of the relationships between QS, CFC, ML, SA, and EDC, and how to efficiently troubleshoot issues related with those different systems.
  • Advanced understanding of EDC and Auto Spooling.
  • Understanding of POS Grind files and their relationship to the Insight Polling Process.
  • Experience with help desk supporting QS, CFC, and other NCR products.
  • Experience with onsite configuration and set up/installation of a complete POS system.
  • General knowledge of reports in CFC and EDC.
  • General knowledge and use of Aloha Insight.
  • General knowledge of Aloha Insight Reporting.
  • Minimum 3 years: Experience in tech support or help desk role OR Work within the hospitality industry.
  • Preferred: background related to programming or database development with Aloha ver 6.7 or higher.
  • 2-3 years supporting Aloha in a distributed environment.
  • In depth knowledge of NCR’s Configuration
  • In depth knowledge Aloha Panel design
  • General networking/connectivity knowledge.
  • General Windows’s desktop administration and user support/training background.
  • Strong customer service attitude and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize and multi-task to ensure work load is maintained.
  • Experience with NCR BackOffice (MenuLink) is a plus

General Manager: Arizona


Reports to: Area Director/Area Manager


Description:

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, Inc. is searching for a General Manager for the Arizona team. Founded in 1976, Capriotti’s is a multiple award winning specialty sandwich retailer with more than 55 company-owned and franchise locations in eight states across the United States including, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Utah, Wisconsin and Nevada. With a reputation for gourmet taste, Capriotti’s prides itself on using the freshest ingredients in order to provide customers with a taste of home in every bite. The ideal candidate will have ultimate responsibility and decision-making authority for daily unit operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with Area Director/Area Manager for development of company restaurant.
  • Performs and oversees all assistant manager duties.
  • Works maximum hours in store as needed to ensure service level.
  • Prepares employee schedules and keep payroll within levels.
  • Is responsible for building sandwich shop team, sales and is accountable for profit and loss.
  • Ensures that all products and service items (aprons, paper products, etc.) are delivered as billed and are up to Capriotti’s standards.
  • Is capable of performing every function in the sandwich shop so as to properly supervise all of those functions.
  • Effectively communicates with everyone and represents the goals of Area Director/Area Manager.
  • Notifies Area Director/Area Manager of any customer complaints.
  • Responsible for quality leadership in the store promoting positive employee morale. Leads by example.
  • Oversee, support and guide corporate store personnel.
  • Monitors fill ups, back up and customer orders. Delegates to ensure the counter is kept clean at all times and that orders are being prepared properly and in a timely manner. Ensures all pick up orders are ready within 25 minutes from time of ordering.
  • Ensures menu items are prepared properly.
  • Closely monitors the slicing of meats and cheeses to ensure product is used within 1-2 days and is the proper thickness.
  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures, setting the standard for excellence in the sandwich shop.
  • Implements changes to systems as required by Area Director/Area Manager.
  • Responsible for employee maintenance, including hiring, firing and training entire staff.
  • Meets with field consultant to develop plans to improve the business and increase sales.
  • Ensures all food and health safety practices are being followed.
  • Ensures food cost controls are being followed.
  • Arranges for services as necessary to make repairs and properly maintain the facility and grounds.
  • Arranges for preventive maintenance or repair on equipment as necessary.
  • Oversee all bookkeeping and banking if required by Area Director/Area Manager.
  • Ensures the security of the sandwich shop and employees during opening and closing, and when receiving deliveries.
  • Monitors inventory and prepare orders as necessary.
  • Conducts regular employee meetings.
  • Maintains the POS system.
  • Monitors quality of food and maintains high standards of customer service.
  • Delivers quality customer service and monitors the level of service throughout the sandwich shop.
  • Leads team members to one common goal – Customer Satisfaction.
  • Ensures all proprietary information is kept confidential and all employees are familiar with the terms of their employment agreement.
  • Adheres to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Is able to lift 50lbs.

  • Must be available to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
  • Previous GM experience preferred but not required.
  • Outgoing personality with “customer comes first” focus and attitude.
