Position: Point of Sales System Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Along with the other members of the IT team, maintain and modify the master POS database containing members such as menu item definitions and prices, and POS devices and printers
  • Document the configuration of master POS database
  • Participate on and lead project teams for various IT systems improvement and refinement initiatives
  • Support User Acceptance Testing
  • Develop & Execute test plans
  • Develop procedure documentation and training materials
  • Train business users and provide post implementation support for all help desk administrators at partner companies.
  • Manage “tier two” technical support calls from initiation to resolution, during business hours and on a rotation outside business hours.
  • Own, document and continually refine the process for resolution of technical support issues from initiation through escalation and resolution.
  • Administer remote help desk software
  • Assist other members of the support team with diagnosis, review and resolution of customer issues.
  • Log and track all issues
  • Respond to operational management inquiries concerning systems operation
  • Supervise new restaurant installations, and advise on technological opportunities and/or challenges
  • Provide necessary POS reports to staff and management
  • Interface with vendors to develop customizations to meet changing needs of organization.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to train/coach people with little or no technical ability.
  • Strong written documentation skills.
  • Experience using/supporting Aloha POS Software including the CDM and Enterprise products
  • Experience using/supporting XP and 2003 Operating Systems
  • General knowledge of database concepts
  • General knowledge of Windows Networking
  • Experience using/supporting Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to provide technical support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations
  • General financial knowledge, ability to read and interpret POS System reports
  • Good problem solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
  • Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, be able to multitask effectively during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
  • Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision.
  • Working knowledge of common operating systems and software applications.
  • Salary 35-45k DOE
